At the Field Station, Park Guides help create lifelong memories. They work in an enthusiastic, educational environment filled with innovation and interaction. Our Park Guides make sure that guests are: a part of the expedition, engaged by our educational activities, and entertained by the experience of a day at the Field Station. Park Guides at the Field Station engage guests in interactive activities that include storytelling, organized games and learning, singing, and games. Park Guides must be enthusiastic about dinosaurs and be prepared to share knowledge with guests. In addition to guest services responsibilities, Park Guides may also sweep a trail, fill water tanks, sing songs, pick up garbage, scan tickets, warehouse goods, or raise a tent. Tasks are assigned by Supervisors and spread throughout the day to keep the expeditions of guests moving throughout the park.
Field Station: Dinosaurs is looking for Park Guides who are -
Interested in entertainment and customer service as a vocation
Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including: direct sun, humidity and rain
Reliable and accountable
Able to work on their feet for hours at a time
Eager to help and actively engage customers
Applicants must have a high level of self-confidence and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to engage a crowd and eagerness to help guests are crucial characteristics to this position. Candidates must be in good physical condition with the ability to navigate a park with variable terrain, run, climb stairs, bend frequently, and lift 40 lbs. The nature of outdoor work requires considerable physical effort and occasional exposure to rain, seasonal elements, and some adverse working conditions. Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Applicants must have at least two years experience in a customer-oriented environment. Preference will be given to applicants with theater, summer camp, or science education experience. It is necessary for applicants to be able to read, write and speak in English. bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. Site Management keeps the Field Station site in a show-ready condition. This position maintains the grounds, consisting of: lawns, trails, rock beds, animatronic dinosaurs, interactive displays, electrical equipment, All-Terrain Vehicles and other minor mechanical apparatuses. Consistent upkeep of the grounds as a whole is necessary for success in this position. This position is also responsible for maintaining the flow of vehicles throughout the parking lot as well as ensuring the parking lot is clean, safe, and ready for use at all times. The employee must at all times adhere to the company’s and work site’s safety and environmental protection practices by performing work safely and in accordance with established standards. Must be able to operate required equipment including: gas edgers/blowers, hand tools, drills, etc. Qualifications and licenses in operating heavy equipment and machinery as well as knowledge of outdoor/portable pluming and outdoor electrical/wiring experience is a plus. Staff will be required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc. As part of the job, the employee will be regularly exposed to dirt, dust, disinfectants, solvents or cleaning chemicals. Experience and/or knowledge about basic use of a personal computer is required.
Field Station: Dinosaurs is looking for Site Managers who are -
• Reliable and accountable
• Ready to help and actively engage customers
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Able to stand or walk for long periods of time and will be required to lift 50-100lbs
• Experience with tools, electrical machinery, lawn equipment, etc.
• In good physical condition and able to bend, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below, use hands to finger, handle and/or feel objects, tools or controls, speak and hear.
• Available to work weekends and holidays
Applicants must have a high level of self-confidence and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The nature of outdoor work requires considerable physical effort and occasional exposure to rain and seasonal elements and some adverse working conditions.
Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Applicants must have a valid drivers license and have at least two years’ experience in an engineering, maintenance capacity or similar environment. It is necessary for applicants to be able to read, write and speak in English – bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
