We are currently hiring for the following positions:

Puppeteer
Researcher (actors)
Dinosaur Wrangler (actors with an Australian accent)
Troubadour (singing guitarists)


Puppeteer

At the Field Station, Puppeteers work as a team to help create lifelong memories. They work in an enthusiastic, educational environment filled with innovation and interaction. Puppeteers work with or inside of a 14?? tall Dinosaur puppet. Some smaller puppets will be used on site as well. Our Puppeteers and make sure that guests are a part of our expedition, engaged by our educational activities and enjoy the experience of a day at the Field Station. Puppeteers at the Field Station perform multiple times a day during 2 interactive puppet shows. Applicants should love to perform and engage a role?? and abide a provided script. Dinosaur Puppeteers are also spokespersons for the Field Station and are sent to various promotional events as a team to perform and talk about the park throughout the region.

Field Station: Dinosaurs is looking for Puppeteers who are -

  • Interested in entertainment as a vocation

  • In great physical condition able to carry a 90lb puppet for up to 30 minutes and perform enthusiastically

  • For large puppets at least 5'11" and not taller than 6'4" tall

  • For small puppets height is not a factor

  • Great communicators that like working with kids

  • Interested in performing with some of the latest in mechanized puppetry

  • Are capable with puppets and possess demonstrable puppetry experience â?? please be prepared to provide examples and audition


Applicants should have a high level of self-confidence and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to engage a crowd and eagerness to help guests are crucial characteristics to this position. Candidates must be in good physical condition with the ability to navigate a park with variable terrain, run, climb stairs, bend frequently, and lift at least 50lbs but not greater than 100lbs. The nature of outdoor work requires considerable physical effort and occasional exposure to rain and seasonal elements and some adverse working conditions.

Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Applicants must have prior experience with puppets and at least two years experience in a customer oriented environment. Preference will be given to those applicants with theater, puppetry, camping, or dinosaur experience. It is necessary for applicants to be able to read, write and speak in English, bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. Employees must have access to the internet for purposes of scheduling and company communication. These employment opportunities are seasonal, with full-time and part-time schedules available. This position is non-Equity.

Researcher

At the Field Station, Show Hosts help create lifelong memories. They work in an enthusiastic, educational environment filled with innovation and interaction. Show Hosts at the Field Station engage guests in interactive activities that include storytelling, workshops, organized arts and crafts, singing, and games. As a Show Host you must be enthusiastic about dinosaurs and prepared to share the knowledge you gain with guests. Hosts function as a barker before an activity begins encouraging guests participation in the activity. The activities that Show Hosts engage in will be geared towards education and entertainment. Hosts will be required to improv transitions in the games and maintain a character for a prolonged period of time. Our Show Hosts make sure that guests are a part of our expedition, engaged by our educational activities and enjoy the experience of a day at the Field Station.

Field Station: Dinosaurs is looking for Show Hosts who are -

  • Interested in Entertainment as a vocation

  • Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including: direct sun, humidity and rain

  • Reliable and accountable

  • Eager to help and actively engage customers

  • Undeniably enthusiastic performers

  • Able to memorize a speech and facts

  • Able to engage a crowd and improvise commentary

  • Able to maintain a character for the duration of a show, please be prepared to audition

Wranglers are the adventure host of both main stage shows. The rugged character empowers children and families to challenge their fears and knowledge of science and dinosaurs. Our Wranglers makes sure that guests are a part of our expedition, engaged by our educational activities and enjoy the experience of a day at the Field Station. Wranglers at the Field Station perform multiple times a day during 2 interactive puppet shows, as well host more intimate shows. Applicants should love to perform and engage a role and abide a provided script. Dinosaur Wranglers are also spokespersons for the Field Station and are sent to various promotional events as a team to perform and talk about the park throughout the region.

Field Station: Dinosaurs is looking for Wranglers who are -

  • Interested in entertainment as a vocation

  • Have a believable Australian accent

  • Great communicators that like working with kids

  • Team players to assist fellow cast and crew members.

Troubadour

At the Field Station, Dinosaur Troubadours help create lifelong memories engaging a crowd in song. They work in an enthusiastic, educational environment filled with innovation and interaction. Troubadours make sure that guests are a part of our expedition, engaged by our educational activities and enjoy the experience of a day at the Field Station. Troubadours sing songs provided and introduce audiences and school groups to other activities at the Field Station. Dinosaur Troubadours at the Field Station engage guests in interactive activities that include storytelling, singing, and games. Dinosaur Troubadours are also spokespersons for the Field Station and sent to various promotional events in the surrounding region.

Field Station: Dinosaurs is looking for Troubadours who are -

  • Interested in Entertainment as a vocation

  • Eager to help and actively engage customers in large crowds

  • Able to learn music for guitar

  • Able to learn song lyrics rapidly

  • Interested in performing multiple times a day for short periods

  • Adept with an acoustic and electric guitar and able to sing for extended periods â?? please be prepared to provide examples and audition

Applicants should have a high level of self-confidence and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to engage a crowd and eagerness to help guests are crucial characteristics to this position.
